How Can I Help Ensure a Great Experience?

WHAT DO I WEAR DURING MY MASSAGE SESSION?

You can undress to your own comfort level. Most massage techniques I use are best done against the bare skin. For a full body massage, most people get completely undressed. However, if you feel more comfortable, you certainly can leave your underwear on. Keep in mind, you will be covered with a sheet and blanket at all times. Only the body part being worked on will be exposed.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING MY MASSAGE?

When you first arrive, feel free to ask any questions you may have, and share any health concerns or limitations that are relevant to your treatment. You will be given complete privacy of the room to make yourself comfortable on the massage table. During the session, many people close their eyes and relax. Do not feel like you need to carry on conversation, this is your time to quiet your mind and take in the benefits of your massage. However, please do not hesitate to tell me if anything feels uncomfortable to you in any way.

WILL I EXPERIENCE MUSCLE SORENESS AFTER A MASSAGE?

Occasionally you may feel soreness after a massage. Massage therapy sets off the release of lactic acid which builds up in tightened muscles creating a temporary feeling of soreness. This is nothing severe. Other sensations of well-being and ease of movement far outweigh this possible temporary side effect! Hydration will speed the recovery process should this occur.
